I was on your side until I saw that you were spreading misinformation (the first thing I quoted - that you cannot, in fact, link the Square Enix accounts from FF7/etc that are also called "Square Enix IDs" with mogstation accounts which the FFXIV launcher also calls a "Square Enix ID") and then you double downed on "everybody's an idiot and this is obviously such an easy thing." Acting high and mighty and insulting people for being confused doesn't help anybody and makes you look like an ass.

If you've bought other games from Square Enix and set up a thing they call a "Square Enix ID" it's easy to see why a person might think "Oh, I have a Square Enix ID!" and then be flummoxed when it isn't the right "Square Enix ID" for FFXIV. (Please note that the site you should be going to is called "Square Enix Account" and this is called "Square Enix Members". This is a rewards site and basic membership site for promotions and other games, it literally has nothing to do with FFXIV at all. Not once in the official instructions or anything I've listed are you ever told to go there. But at no point in any o the instrutions are you ever sent to SE Members, which is what your first screenshot is of. The fact that you're bringing them into this certainly shows me how you're confusing yourself. This has absolutely nothing to do with other SE games. If you were bothering to actually follow what I'd said, you'd know that. That's absolutely not the right site or account. You literally need to use one to create the other and all security tokens are managed by the root account. Please don't try to tell people they can't be linked. After you have created a SE account and registered here as the instructions say, you'll be able to log in. This is the one and only MogStation account site. If you have an account here, you have cleared the SE Account setup. This is the one and only Square-Enix account site. Square-Enix MEMEBERS accounts are NOT Square-Enix accounts.
